Mrs. Hickerson
This is me . . . as a third grader.
This was when I learned that I loved school! I would pretend that I was the teacher on my grandparents enclosed porch. My dolls and teddy bears were my students - sometimes I could convince my little brothers to participate, but not very often!
I was the oldest of 4 children. Yes, I was the only girl! I have three brothers. During third grade you will hear some funny stories about those brothers and me! The fire, the refrigerator, and a few more ...
Attending Battle Creek Academy for 12 years, I had the best teachers - but my third grade teacher was a very special memory! Miss Roeloff - she let me take the pet goldfish home for the summer and taught me to love school. Most of all she demonstrated how much she cared about me as a student and helped me learn that I was capable of anything I set my mind to - a lifeskill I value to this day.
My husband, Stanley passed away January of last year. I miss him terribly, but I know that Jesus is coming Soon! and I want my students to be there too! Our 6 wonderful children have provided us with 5 precious grandchildren, ranging in age from 16 - 6. The newest will be born in March of this year!!! I can't wait!!!
