Welcome to the 2014-2015 School Year
Mrs. Hickerson believes that third & fourth grade are the best years of all. We do a lot of fun learning! Here are a few of my favorites: multiplication facts, Michigan state history, how to write and read cursive, scripture memorization, poetry writing, Adventist history, and keyboarding! This year we've added coding to our curriculum and will it be fun!!
We read some of the best books! You can find a comfortable seat in the classroom to read - some even like to read under their desks. We have the best volunteers who visit every week to read with you. Book report projects like, posters, book covers, oral reports, cereal boxes, and more will get started in the classroom.
Third grade is a year of transition. Fourth grade is a time to reinforce the skills learned in third grade. Students progress from developmental skills to a development of independent thinking. This begins by taking responsibility for their day, to think independently, and become life-long learners.
It's a big year with lots of fun and these bright young minds are up for the challenge!
